Digital consent forms patients sign before they walk in
Build your own consent and information templates, fill patient details automatically with TAGs, and collect a signature by text before the visit or on a tablet at the front desk.
Your consent language, not a generic template
You write the text once and reuse it. TAGs pull patient and visit data in so nobody types a name or a date of birth twice.
- Unlimited consent templates you create and edit yourself
- TAGs that auto-fill patient name, date, provider and procedure
- Separate informational documents for pre and post-visit instructions
- Keep parallel English and Spanish versions of the same form
- One template per procedure so the wording always matches the visit
- Update a template without touching consents already signed
Sign remotely, before the appointment
Send the consent by text and the patient signs on their phone at home. The visit starts with the paperwork already done.
- Remote signature request delivered by text message
- Patient signs on any phone browser, no app to install
- Signed document files itself to the patient's record
- See at a glance which consents are still outstanding
- Resend a request that went unanswered
- Language of the document follows the patient record
Handwritten signature on a tablet in the office
For patients who prefer to sign in person, DrinCloud integrates with VidSigner for handwritten signature capture on a tablet.
- Handwritten signature captured on a tablet at the front desk
- Powered by VidSigner, an outside provider you contract separately
- VidSigner is a paid service and is not included in your plan
- Same templates work for both remote and in-person signing
- No printing, scanning or filing after the fact
- Works alongside kiosk check-in for walk-in patients
Stored where an auditor can find it
A consent is only useful if you can produce it years later. Signed documents stay on the record with a trail behind them.
- Signed consents attached to the patient chart, not a shared drive
- Audit log recording the user and timestamp of every action
- Access controlled by user profile and role
- Log-in limited to the IP ranges of your offices if you want it
- Automatic backups on a private instance for your practice
- Export documents and records to CSV whenever you want
Two signing methods, two different bills
Remote signature is sent by text, so it consumes SMS credit. Handwritten tablet signature runs through VidSigner, a separate company with its own contract and fee. Better to read that here than to meet it as a surprise line on an invoice.
Questions we get asked
Are electronic signatures valid for medical consent in the US?
Electronic signatures are broadly recognized under the federal ESIGN Act and state UETA adoptions. State rules and specialty requirements vary, so have your own counsel review your consent language and process.
What are TAGs?
Placeholders you drop into a template that fill in automatically when the document is generated: patient name, date of birth, date of service, provider, procedure.
Does the patient need an account or an app to sign?
No. They get a link by text and sign in their phone browser. In-office tablet signing uses VidSigner, contracted separately.
Can I send prescriptions this way?
No. DrinCloud has no electronic prescribing and does not transmit prescriptions to pharmacies.
