Unlimited, and what that costs

Video visits in DrinCloud are not metered. There is no minute counter and no per-call fee, so a solo clinician running forty virtual follow-ups a week pays the same as one running four. Telehealth is included from the Solo plan at $107 a month, together with the patient portal. On the Essential plan at $49 a month for a single provider it is an add-on of $10 a month, which is usually the cheaper way in for someone who only does video occasionally.

The video room belongs to the appointment rather than to a separate meeting tool. You start the call from the agenda entry or from inside the open chart, and the patient joins from a browser link on a phone or a laptop with nothing to install. The chart stays open beside the call, so the note is written into the right record while you are talking instead of afterwards from memory.

The paperwork around a remote visit

A remote visit generates the same documents as an in-person one, and in a small practice there is nobody to chase them by email. The telehealth consent is signed remotely by the patient on their own phone through a link, which is included rather than an add-on. Pre-visit questionnaires are filled in from the patient portal before the call, attachments can be uploaded by the patient ahead of time, and instructions or handouts are published back to the portal afterwards. Each patient receives all of it in their own language on file, which can be English, Spanish, Portuguese or German regardless of the language your staff works in.

Remote visits are also the easiest to no-show, so payment is taken at booking by card, as a deposit or drawn from a prepaid package, and the invoice is issued automatically after the visit. Reminders carry the join link.

What we cover and what stays yours

We handle the HIPAA safeguards, encryption in transit and at rest, the audit trail of who joined the room and when, and we sign a Business Associate Agreement at no extra cost on every plan. Two things stay with you. Licensure in the state where the patient is physically sitting is yours to confirm, and prescribing is not something DrinCloud does: there is no e-prescribing module, prescriptions are printed or sent as a PDF, and in states that mandate electronic prescribing, which includes California, Florida, New York, Michigan, Minnesota and Delaware, you need a separate e-prescribing platform alongside us.

The honest description of what this is: a video room wired into a chart and a calendar, not a remote care suite with connected device integrations. If you need remote monitoring hardware feeding readings into the record, we are not it.
