Healthie pricing in 2026 and the alternatives for a nutrition or telehealth practice

Healthie lists Core at $19, Essentials $49, Plus $129 and Group from $149, with the AI add-on unpriced. Here is the real bill at one, two and three clinicians.

October 28, 2026 · 10 min read

Healthie's pricing page, read on October 28, 2026, lists four paid tiers: Core at $19 a month, Essentials at $49, Plus at $129 and Group from $149, with annual billing shown as $18, $45, $115 and from $135 a month. Additional clinicians on the Group plan are $50 a month each. The AI documentation add-on is where the page stops giving numbers: it appears as an add-on on Plus and Group, it is not listed on Core or Essentials, and the only pricing language is "Additional fees apply" (gethealthie.com/pricing).

Two consequences follow from that, and they are the reason most people searching "healthie cost" end up confused. First, a $19 entry price is the cheapest headline in this whole category, cheaper than Noterro at $33 or Practice Better at $35, which makes Healthie look like the budget choice and it genuinely can be one for a solo dietitian who wants charting and a client portal and nothing else. Second, the moment you want AI documentation or a second clinician, you leave the cheap end of the price list entirely: AI lives on the $129 and $149 tiers at an undisclosed fee, and a second clinician requires Group at $149 plus $50, so $199 a month minimum for two people.

That is a jump from $49 to $199 for the practice that hires one associate. Four times the bill for one extra person. Below is the arithmetic at one, two and three clinicians, what Healthie is genuinely better at than anyone, and the alternatives that are worth pricing next to it.

What Healthie charges

PlanMonthlyBilled annually, per monthAI documentationExtra clinician
Core$19$18not listednot listed
Essentials$49$45not listednot listed
Plus$129$115add-on, "additional fees apply"not listed
Groupfrom $149from $135add-on, "additional fees apply"$50 each

Read the AI column before anything else. If ambient documentation is part of why you are shopping, the realistic Healthie starting point is Plus at $129 or Group at $149, plus a fee the page does not state. That is not a criticism of the product, it is a budgeting problem: you cannot compare Healthie's all in cost to anything until a human tells you the number.

How to budget for an add-on with no published price

Do not guess, and do not let a reviewer guess for you. What you can do is bracket it with what the rest of the market charges for the same thing, read on each vendor's own page on October 28, 2026.

VendorAI scribe price
Practice Better$10 for 1,200 minutes, $20 for 3,600, $40 for 7,200, per practitioner
Jane$15 per practitioner
DrinCloud$20 per clinician
Cerbo$29 or $59
SimplePractice$35 per clinician
Freed, standalone$59 to $119
Twofold, standalone$69
Tebra$99
Charm$125
Healthienot published

So the band is roughly $10 to $40 a month per clinician for a scribe built into a platform, and $59 to $149 for a standalone one. When you talk to Healthie, ask for the per clinician monthly figure, whether it is metered by minutes or flat, and what happens when you exceed the allowance. Get it in writing before you sign an annual term, because an annual commitment plus an unpriced add-on is how a $49 decision turns into a $200 one.

The second question to ask is which plan the add-on requires. If AI is only sold on Plus and Group, then for a solo practitioner the true price of Healthie with AI is $129 plus the fee, not $49 plus the fee.

The jump from Essentials to Group

CliniciansHealthie planBaseSeatsMonthly total before AI
1Essentials$49included$49
1 with AIPlus$129included$129 plus AI fee
2Groupfrom $149+$50from $199
3Groupfrom $149+$100from $249
5Groupfrom $149+$200from $349

The $49 to $199 step is the one that catches practices out, and it is worth being fair about why it exists. Group is not simply Essentials with more seats. It brings the multi provider scheduling, permissions and reporting a real group needs, and "from $149" means the figure can be higher depending on what you need. But from where the buyer sits, the question is simpler: your practice grew by one person and your software bill grew by $150.

Three alternatives price that same step at $78, $159 and $225. The rest of this post is that comparison.

What Healthie is genuinely better at

Three things, and if any of them is central to your business then Healthie is probably the right answer and you should stop comparison shopping.

The API and the developer story. Healthie is the platform people build on. If you are a digital health company, a virtual clinic, a telehealth startup or a nutrition program that needs the record system to sit behind your own app and your own onboarding, Healthie's API and documentation are the strongest in this category by a wide margin. Nothing we or Practice Better or IntakeQ offer is close for that use case. Our own integration options are machine connectors and CRM connectors at $30 a month each, with API access at $300 to set up and $80 a month, which is a different product for a different buyer.

Telehealth at scale. Group video, programs delivered remotely, cohorts, async messaging, a patient app that patients actually install. A fully virtual nutrition or weight management practice with hundreds of active clients is exactly what Healthie was designed around. If you are running ten video visits a week from one room, you do not need that depth, and unlimited video consultations are included from the $107 plan in our software with no minute counting. If you are running a virtual program with coaches and cohorts, Healthie is built for it and we are not.

Nutrition specific workflow. Food logging, macro and metric tracking, program delivery, charting templates that assume a dietitian wrote them. For a nutrition and dietitian practice that sells 12 week packages rather than single visits, this is the category where Healthie and Practice Better are the two serious options and most general practice management software, ours included, has nothing equivalent.

The alternatives, priced

List prices from each vendor's public pricing page on October 28, 2026, with the AI scribe turned on where the vendor publishes a price for one.

IntakeQ PracticeQ$84.90$114.90$144.90none
DrinCloud$69 on Essential with AI$159 on Clinic$179 on Clinic$20 per clinician

What that table says, plainly:

  • Carepatron is the cheapest real option at every seat count and it includes AI. If price is the deciding factor, price it first.
  • Healthie Core at $19 is the cheapest entry point in the category, as long as you need neither AI nor a second seat.
  • Practice Better is the closest like for like swap for a nutrition practice, with the same program and protocol strengths, and the same cliff at practitioner two. The full breakdown is in our Practice Better pricing analysis.
  • IntakeQ PracticeQ has the best intake forms and no AI scribe, which is a live problem in 2026. We priced it at what $84.90 a month buys at IntakeQ.
  • Ours, DrinCloud, is the cheapest of the group once AI is on and there are two or three clinicians, because the Clinic plan covers one to three users for $119 a month billed annually and the scribe is $20 per clinician. Users four and five are $45 each. Everything is on the plans and prices page.

Where our software is the wrong choice

Said plainly, because you will find out anyway.

  1. No insurance billing. No clearinghouse, no eligibility checks, no denial management. We generate superbills and the patient files them. If claims are your revenue, we are not a candidate and Healthie is the better platform.
  2. No food journal, no macro tracking, no program builder. For a nutrition practice selling packages with between visit adherence tracking, this is the gap. Healthie and Practice Better both have it.
  3. No ONC certification and no e-prescribing. Prescriptions print or send as PDF. California, Florida, New York, Michigan, Minnesota and Delaware mandate electronic prescribing, so a prescriber in those states needs a separate e-Rx platform.
  4. No free trial and no guided demo. Signup is paid, online, about three minutes, and you cancel monthly if it is not for you. Some people hate that. It is deliberate.

What you do get at that price: multi professional scheduling, an embeddable online booking widget with real time availability, charting with memory fields that pull allergies and medication forward from the last visit, superbills with NPI, EIN and your own CPT and ICD-10 codes, counter and online payments, remote e-signature on every plan, automated SMS and email reminders, satisfaction surveys, HIPAA with a BAA on every plan, and the whole system in English, Spanish or Portuguese with each patient communicated with in their own language. Nobody else in this comparison supports clinicians in Spanish and Portuguese.

Five questions to ask before you buy any of them

  1. What is the all in monthly price at the number of clinicians I will have in twelve months, with AI on? Get the figure, not the plan name.
  2. Which plan is the AI add-on available on, and what is the per clinician fee?
  3. Is there a minute allowance, and what is the overage rate?
  4. What does an export of my data contain, and in what format? Ask before you are a customer, not after.
  5. Is insurance billing part of my revenue? If yes, cross off every cash-pay only platform immediately, including ours.

On question one, the fixed costs a small practice forgets when it compares plan prices, payment processing, SMS, storage, the hours spent on setup, are laid out in what an EHR really costs a small practice.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Healthie cost per month?

As listed on Healthie's pricing page on October 28, 2026, Core is $19 a month, Essentials $49, Plus $129 and Group starts at $149, with annual billing at $18, $45, $115 and from $135. Additional clinicians on Group are $50 a month each.

Does Healthie charge extra for AI?

Yes. AI documentation is an add-on shown on the Plus and Group plans, and the pricing page says only that "additional fees apply" without stating an amount. Ask for the per clinician monthly figure and any minute allowance in writing before committing to an annual plan.

What does Healthie cost for two providers?

The Group plan is required for more than one clinician, so two providers start at $149 plus $50, which is $199 a month before any AI fee. That is the step most practices do not plan for, since a solo clinician can run on Essentials at $49.

Is Healthie good for a nutrition practice?

Yes, it is one of the two strongest options for nutrition alongside Practice Better, because of food logging, program delivery and templates built for dietitians. If your revenue comes from multi week packages with between visit tracking, it is a better fit than general practice management software.

What is the best Healthie alternative on price?

Carepatron Advanced at $39 per user with AI included is the cheapest credible alternative at every seat count we priced: $39, $78 and $117 at one, two and three clinicians. For two or three clinicians with AI, DrinCloud Clinic at $159 and $179 is the next cheapest of the platforms we compared.

Can I move my data out of Healthie later?

Ask that question during the sales conversation and get the answer in writing. Every platform in this category exports patients, appointments and invoices in some form, and every one of them loses note formatting and visit linked attachments on the way out. Plan a thirty day overlap before you cancel anything.

DrinCloud is practice management software for clinics the patient pays directly: AI charting at $20 per clinician, superbills, unlimited telehealth from the $107 plan, and a patient portal in your patient's own language. See the plans and what each one includes.
