DrinCloud vs Healthie: an honest comparison for nutrition and telehealth
Healthie is what nutrition and telehealth companies buy when they mean to build a product on top of it, and its API is the best developer story in this market by a distance. DrinCloud is the US edition of a clinic system with 12+ years and 8,000+ clinics in 14 countries, built for practices paid directly by the patient. So start with the sentence that ends this page for some readers. If your company is going to build on an API, buy Healthie and stop comparing. Ours exists, at $300 to set up and $80 a month, and it is not in the same league. Prices on pricing, the rest in all comparisons.
Healthie is a developer platform that also ships an EHR. GraphQL with a public docs site and a browser explorer, a sandbox separate from production, webhooks in both, React SDKs on npm, a partner marketplace called the Harbor, and five hours a month with a Solutions Engineer inside the API add-on. It bills insurance through Claim.MD and sells DoseSpot e-prescribing at $40 a clinician. It also owns the cheapest door here at $19, the lowest entry price of the fourteen products we track, though that plan caps you at 10 clients and cannot run AI.
The math runs the other way. AI charting is gated to Plus at $129 and up, so a solo provider who wants AI notes pays $129 plus $35, which is $164 against our $69. Two providers is $234 with AI against $159 here, because Clinic covers 1 to 3 users for $119. Their 40 scribe hours are shared by the whole account, so a busy team buys overage at $0.85 an hour. Our scribe is $20 per provider, unmetered.

Sources: gethealthie.com/pricing and drincloud.com/pricing, November 2, 2026. The $35 AI price, the 40 included scribe hours and the $0.85 overage come from help.gethealthie.com article 1397. That page quotes Claim.MD at 'Starting at $30/mo.' in its plan tables and 'Starting at $25/mo.' in its integrations section; we did not resolve it.
Healthie takes the sticker and loses the shape. Nineteen dollars is a remarkable entry price we cannot match, and the 14 day trial plus a 7 day AI trial are honest wins. What $19 buys is 10 active clients and no AI at any price. Our floor is $49 with unlimited patients, the record and superbills inside, and the scribe at $20 printed on the page, not in a support article.
The real math: three scenarios
| Scenario | DrinCloud | Healthie |
|---|---|---|
| Solo provider with AI notes | $69/moEssential $49 plus the $20 scribe | $164/moPlus $129 plus $35. Core and Essentials cannot run AI |
| 2 providers, AI for both | $159/moClinic $119 covers 1 to 3, plus 2 x $20 | $234/mo$149 + $50 + $35. Without AI, $199 |
| 6 providers, AI for everyone | $407/moMedical Center $287 covers 4 to 30, plus 6 x $20 | $434/mo$149 + 5 x $50 + $35. Forty hours shared by six |
Arithmetic with the rates on gethealthie.com/pricing and help.gethealthie.com article 1397, and drincloud.com/pricing, November 2, 2026. DrinCloud figures are the annual rate; monthly billing runs $59, $143 and $344.
The $19 headline and these invoices are two different conversations. Ask what we would ask before signing: what does the second clinician cost, and what does AI for the whole team cost. At Healthie, $50 plus a move to Group, and $35 for a shared pool of 40 hours that only exists from $129 up. Here the fourth provider is $0 because the band covers them, and AI is $20 a head.

The heaviest block, and the closest of the seven. Their scribe is a real product: it listens in person, by phone and over Zoom, and adds encounter summaries and drafted follow-up tasks at no extra charge. Two things keep the scores apart. It does not exist below $129, which rules out the two plans most small practices buy, and its 40 hours are one pool rather than per provider. See the AI scribe.

Concede the reminder row without an argument: Healthie puts email and text reminders in the Core feature set on every plan, the $19 one included, while we sell SMS in $36 packs of 300. They also run group telehealth and classes, which matters to a dietitian working in cohorts. The rest goes our way because it comes from running buildings rather than video calls: a self-refilling waitlist, tablet check-in, an operating room calendar.

Closer than the rest of the page, because Healthie is a complete billing product and not a thin front end. They take the membership row outright with recurring invoices and client packages, which is how many nutrition practices actually get paid. We take the rows a physical cash-pay clinic lives in: a deposit at booking, a sliding scale on the patient, stock that discounts itself. Our superbill carries NPI, EIN, CPT and ICD-10.

Healthie's own documentation settles the language rows and we had to interpret nothing. Interface translation is not available, it is called a long-term roadmap item, and the recommended workaround is two parallel intake flows plus a browser translator. Two Spanish forms exist on request. If half your schedule speaks Spanish or Portuguese, that gap does more to your show-up rate than any other row here. Their wins: a client app, and a US user base we lack.

The API add-on price is not published; the help center says it includes 5 hours of support a month with a Solutions Engineer.
Five point zero against one point five, and no wording fixes it. Healthie is the platform telehealth companies build on, and the reason is in this table: documented GraphQL, a browser explorer, a real sandbox with no PHI in it, webhooks in both environments, React SDKs on npm, a marketplace, and engineering hours in the add-on. If your company is going to build on an API, buy Healthie and close this tab. Same answer if you bill payers or prescribe.

Both sign a BAA and both let your data out, which is the question to ask before moving in anywhere. The difference is who does the moving: our importer is free and you run it yourself on any Excel or XML file, theirs is a service their team performs from the Essentials plan up. Healthie wins the clinical ecosystem row cleanly, with self-pay lab ordering and remote monitoring. See alternatives.
Which one fits you?
Healthie is the better fit if...
- Your company is going to build a product on an API. That is the whole argument and we lose it outright: GraphQL with public docs, a browser explorer, a sandbox, webhooks, React SDKs and engineering hours in the add-on. Buy Healthie.
- You bill insurance. CMS 1500s from Essentials, Claim.MD or Office Ally, eligibility checks and ERAs back inside the product. We file no claims at all.
- You prescribe. DoseSpot is $40 a clinician with no setup fee; we print or send PDFs, which fails in CA, FL, NY, MI, MN and DE.
- You want the cheapest start and fit inside it: $19 for 10 active clients is the lowest entry price of the fourteen platforms we track.
- You want third parties plugged in: the Harbor covers labs, devices, intake, compliance and automation.
- You run cohorts and memberships: group telehealth, automated programs, recurring invoices and packages. More in our Healthie pricing review.
DrinCloud is the better fit if...
- You want an AI note without moving to a $129 plan: ours is $20 per provider from the $49 plan, with no hour counter. Theirs is $164 against our $69.
- You are 1 to 3 providers: Clinic at $119 covers all three, so two with AI for both is $159 here against $234 there.
- You want the AI price on the pricing page rather than in a support article, and no overage at $0.85 an hour.
- Part of your schedule speaks Spanish or Portuguese. Their own help center says interface translation is still a roadmap item.
- Your front desk is physical: tablet check-in, a waiting room call screen, a waitlist that refills cancellations.
- You do procedures or surgery: an operating room calendar with a surgical waitlist, admitted patients by floor and room.
- You live off repeat visits: campaigns fired by a patient event, satisfaction surveys and referral-source tracking.
- You want a flat bill as you grow: $287 covers 4 to 30 users, so provider eleven changes nothing.
- You want your own Stripe account holding the money, so a volume rate you negotiate stays yours.
- You want the move in free and the exit open: Excel or XML in, CSV and PDF out. See pricing.

'Not documented' means the feature does not appear on the vendor's public website, developer documentation or help center on that date, not that it does not exist. Healthie columns that include AI notes use the $35 add-on price published in help center article 1397, because the pricing page states only that additional fees apply. That page also quotes Claim.MD at 'Starting at $30/mo.' in its plan tables and 'Starting at $25/mo.' in its integrations section, and we have not resolved that conflict. Card rates quoted for DrinCloud are the standard Stripe US rates applied to a client's own Stripe account. Scores come only from the table cells, with the published formula.
